Fabio Zanon

ファビオ・ザノンは、国際的に高く評価されるブラジル出身のクラシック・ギタリスト。

スペインの『フランシスコ・タレガ国際ギターコンクール』と、アメリカの『GFA国際コンクール』という二大ギター・コンクールで優勝。さらに、イタリアの『アレッサンドリア国際ギターコンクール』（ミケーレ・ピッタルーガ）でも優勝。

想像力と誠実さ、そして洗練された音色を兼ね備えた演奏で知られ、指揮者、教育者、ラジオ番組のホストとしても活動し、クラシック・ギターの文化的な可能性を広げる活動にも力を注いでいる。

ソリストとしては、ロンドンのロイヤル・フェスティバル・ホールやウィグモア・ホール、ベルリン・フィルハーモニー、ニューヨークのカーネギー・ワイル・リサイタル・ホールなど、世界50か国以上で演奏。日本では、2017年に上皇后・美智子さまの御前でも演奏。

2021年には、IREE Culturaの音楽ポッドキャスト「Lira（リーラ）」を立ち上げ、幅広い音楽トピックを扱った番組を制作。ブラジルのラジオ・クルトゥーラでは「ギターの芸術」「ブラジルのギター」など、約200本の番組を企画・執筆・出演し、教育教材としても使用されている。

ザノンは父親から最初の手ほどきを受けた後、アントニオ・ゲデス、エンリケ・ピント、そしてサンパウロ大学のエデルトン・グローデンに師事。1990年に渡英し、英国王立音楽院でマイケル・ルウィンに師事し、ジュリアン・ブリーム、ジョン・ウィリアムズのマスタークラスにも参加。ロンドン大学大学院を修了。

2009年よりロイヤル・アカデミー・オブ・ミュージックの客員教授を務め、スペインのアリカンテ・クラシックギターマスターコース、ポルトガルのリスボン＝エストリル音楽祭などでも定期的に教鞭、2008年にはストックホルムの王立音楽大学のレジデント教授も務めた。ニューヨークのジュリアード音楽院をはじめ、世界各地の名門音楽院でマスタークラスを実施。

また、著書『フォーリャ・エスプリカ：ヴィラ＝ロボス』を執筆。Musical Heritage、Decca、BIS、SOMM、Naxosなどの名門レーベルから録音をリリースしており、現在はGuitarCoopからソロ作品を独占的にリリースしている。

Vencedor dos mais prestigiados concursos internacionais de violão: o Certamen Francisco Tárrega, na Espanha, e o Concurso da Guitar Foundation of America (GFA), nos Estados Unidos, além do Concurso Internacional de Alessandria, na Itália, Fabio é amplamente aclamado por suas interpretações que aliam imaginação artística, rigor interpretativo e uma sonoridade poderosa.

Sua atuação como regente, educador e divulgador da música clássica tem contribuído significativamente para inserir o violão em uma perspectiva cultural mais abrangente.

Como solista, apresentou-se em mais de 50 países, em salas de prestígio como o Royal Festival Hall e o Wigmore Hall, em Londres; a Philharmonie, em Berlim; e o Weill Hall at Carnegie, em Nova York. No Japão, realizou apresentação especial para Sua Majestade, a Imperatriz Michiko, em 2017.

Em 2021, criou o podcast Lira, do IREE Cultura, dedicado a uma ampla gama de temas relacionados à música. Concebeu, escreveu e apresentou cerca de 200 programas para a Rádio Cultura, incluindo as séries A Arte do Violão e O Violão Brasileiro, atualmente adotadas como material didático em instituições de ensino musical.

Fabio iniciou seus estudos com seu pai e, posteriormente, foi aluno de Antonio Guedes, Henrique Pinto e Edelton Gloeden, este último na Universidade de São Paulo. Em 1990, mudou-se para Londres, onde estudou com Michael Lewin na Royal Academy of Music, além de participar de masterclasses com Julian Bream e John Williams. Obteve o título de mestre pela Universidade de Londres.

É Visiting Professor da Royal Academy of Music desde 2009; também atua regularmente como professor no Master Guitarra Alicante (Espanha), no Festival de Lisboa-Estoril em Portugal e foi professor residente no Conservatório Real de Estocolmo. Tem dado cursos e master classes nos maiores festivais e conservatórios ao redor do globo, da Juilliard em Nova York até os principais conservatórios do extremo Oriente.

É também autor do livro Folha Explica – Villa-Lobos e possui uma discografia diversificada, com lançamentos por selos como Musical Heritage, Decca, BIS, SOMM e Naxos. Atualmente, suas gravações solo são lançadas com exclusividade pela GuitarCoop.

In spite of his lack of inclination towards competition, Fabio won the most prestigious international guitar competitions: the Certamen Francisco Tarrega in Spain, the International Guitar Foundation of America (GFA) Competition in the United States, and the Alessandria International Competition in Italy. His interpretations are admired for their combination of integrity, imagination and a cultivated tone.

His varied activities as a conductor, teacher, writer and broadcaster have contributed to placing the guitar in a broader cultural perspective.

As a soloist, he has performed in more than 50 countries, in theatres such as the Royal Festival Hall and Wigmore Hall in London, Philharmonie in Berlin, Weill Hall at Carnegie in New York. Among several prestigious engagements, he has performed for Her Majesty the Empress Michiko of Japan in 2017.

In 2021 he produced Lira – the IREE music podcast, where he broadcasts a wide variety of music-related topics. He conceived, wrote and presented around 200 programs for Radio Cultura, including the series The Art of Guitar and The Brazilian Guitar, which have been used as teaching materials.

He moved to London in 1990, where he studied at the Royal Academy of Music with Michael Lewin, and attended master classes with Julian Bream and John Williams; he obtained his master’s degree from the University of London.

He has been Visiting Professor at the Royal Academy of Music since 2009; he also regularly teaches at the Master Guitarra Alicante (Spain), at the Lisbon-Estoril Festival (Portugal), and was a resident teacher at the Royal Conservatory of Stockholm in 2008. He has given courses and master classes at the biggest conservatories around the globe, from Juilliard in New York to the main conservatories of the Far East.
